The Unitarian Universalist Church, Rockford, is a great place to work. We have a team atmosphere, respect each person's skill and authority, and cover for each other. There's often flexibility in hours, and wages are highly competitive for the Rockford region. Plus, you'll be working to support an organization that matters -- that proclaims the values of love, justice, and inclusion in the world and makes a difference in people's lives. Please note the following:
- We do NOT hire members and friends of the church, with very limited exceptions. If hired, the minister is your boss, not your minister; and the church is your employer, not your community.
- We are proud to be a Welcoming Congregation, where gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans*, and queer people are fully included and affirmed. We also are a strong supporter of racial justice.
- We are a non-creedal, liberal theological tradition with a strong commitment to interfaith wisdom. Our congregation includes liberal Christians, atheists and agnostics, humanists, pagans, Buddhists, skeptics and mystics -- and most who mix these things together in a way that feels true for them. You need not be a Unitarian Universalist to work for us, but you will need to be comfortable working in an environment of religious diversity and liberal values.
