Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of religion is Unitarian Universalism?

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal, non-creedal faith. We embrace the wisdom of all the world's religions, and seek to build lives of beauty, love, and justice.

How do I get involved?

The best place to start is to visit us on Sunday morning for worship. Everyone is welcome. When you come, sign up at the hospitality table, and you'll get the newsletter and can see all the activities and events of the church. Once you've been coming for a while, the next step is to attend a "Path to Membership" class, offered four times a year.

What do I wear to worship?

Come as you are. People come, and are comfortable, in everything from business casual to informal attire.

What do I do with my children when I visit?

Your children are welcome, too. Some parents and children choose to worship together, and that's fine. You can also check your children in downstairs, where they will participate in the program for their age group. Arrive early, and you can have time to meet the teachers and see the space.

What do you mean when you say, "Everyone is Welcome"?

All people who seek wholeness are welcome. We are Welcoming Congregation, which means we have been certified as an inclusive and supportive religious home for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people. We welcome people regardless of class, income, race, the presence of a disability, or any other status or identity. Our building is fully accessible.
