Howell Lind, Interim Senior Minister

The Rev. Howell Lind was born in Peoria, IL and grew up in Joliet, IL. He received his B.A. from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and his M. Div. from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre MA.
He was the parish minister of the Winthrop Street Univeralist Church in Augusta, ME for eleven years, and senior minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley in Bethehem, PA for three years.
From 1987 to 2001 he served as the District Executive of the Metropolitan New York District of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Since then he has been a congregational consultant, helping UU churches.
He is married to the Reverend Nancy Bowen who serves as the
District Executive for the Mountain Desert District.
He and Nancy have four grown and wonderful daughters, Lisa, Beth, Laura, and Carrie.
The Rev. Lind comes to us from Aurora, CO where he and Nancy live with their two playful overgrown chocolate labs, Talisker and Oban.
Howell is a third generation Universalist and was ordained both as a parish and community minister in the Unitarian Universalist ministry.
He and Nancy enjoy hiking in the canyons and mountains (in Colorado, not Illinois), visiting their daughters, reading, working together around the house, country western dancing and growing older together.
Working in his shop is one of Howell's passions as he enjoys woodworking - building Mission-style furniture. He is also an amateur photographer, an avid fisherman, and enjoys building and restoring houses.
